1. About Lasta
Lasta is a delivery marketplace platform operated from Dublin, Ireland. We connect individuals and businesses ("Customers") who need parcels delivered with independent couriers ("Couriers") who carry out those deliveries. By using the Lasta app or website, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Lasta. By creating an account you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
3. Customer terms
3.1 Placing an order
When you place a delivery order through the Lasta app, you are entering into a contract with Lasta for the facilitation of that delivery. You agree to provide accurate pickup and drop-off addresses and to ensure that items are lawfully permitted for transport.
3.2 Prohibited items
You must not send: illegal items, weapons, hazardous materials, live animals, cash, or any item prohibited by Irish or EU law. Lasta reserves the right to refuse or cancel orders where prohibited items are suspected, without refund.
3.3 Payments
All payments are processed securely via Stripe. The price shown at checkout covers the delivery itself and includes VAT. Charges that depend on what happens during the delivery are additional and are only ever charged if they occur: waiting time, a cancellation fee, a return fee, and any tip you choose to add. Lasta reserves the right to update pricing at any time; changes will not affect orders already placed. All prices are in Euro (€).
3.4 Cancellations & refunds
You may cancel free of charge at any time before a Courier has accepted your delivery. Once a Courier has accepted, cancellation within two (2) minutes of that acceptance is also free of charge. If you cancel after that window but before the parcel is collected, a cancellation fee of 20% of the delivery fare, plus VAT applies, to compensate the Courier for time and travel already spent. The delivery fare is the base and distance charge; it does not include the technology fee or any tip. The exact amount is shown to you before you confirm the cancellation. Once the parcel has been collected by the Courier, the delivery can no longer be cancelled. If no Courier is found, or a Courier cannot complete your delivery, you are refunded in full and are not charged for a delivery that did not happen. For a delivery that has already been completed, contact support and we will review it. Refund requests can be submitted via the app or by contacting support.
3.5 Waiting time, failed delivery & returns
At the collection address a Courier waits ten (10) minutes at no charge. Waiting beyond that is charged at €0.74 per minute, including VAT, up to a maximum of €3.69 per delivery. Any waiting charge is taken separately from the delivery price and shown on your receipt. If the Waiting Time at the collection address exceeds fifteen (15) minutes because you or the sender are not ready, the delivery may be cancelled and a Cancellation Fee applies. If the Waiting Time at the delivery address exceeds five (5) minutes and the Courier cannot complete the handover, the parcel is returned to the sender: you shall bear the fee for the delivery to the delivery address, as well as 25% of the delivery fare, plus VAT. If a Courier is unable to contact you, the sender, or the recipient after reasonable attempts, Lasta may cancel the delivery and arrange for the goods to be returned to the sender or to you, as appropriate. Lasta will not dispose of any goods without your express written instruction, and you are responsible for the cost of any such return, charged in accordance with the applicable fees.
4. Courier terms
4.1 Independent contractor
Couriers using the Lasta platform are self-employed independent contractors, not employees or agents of Lasta. Couriers are responsible for their own tax obligations, their own insurance, and compliance with road traffic law.
4.2 Courier eligibility
To register as a Courier you must be at least 18 years old, be legally permitted to work in Ireland, and have a smartphone. Lasta deliveries are carried out on foot or by bicycle, so no vehicle, driving licence or motor insurance is required. If Lasta introduces transport types that require a licence or insurance, those requirements will apply only to Couriers using them.
Before your account is approved you must complete an identity check: you provide a government-issued identity document and a selfie, which are compared, and your right to work in Ireland is confirmed. Applications are reviewed before approval and Lasta may decline an application.
4.3 Location sharing
The Lasta Courier app collects your GPS location while you are online and available for deliveries, including in the background, and shares it with the assigned customer during an active delivery so they can track it. Location collection stops when you go offline. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings, but you will not be able to go online without it.
4.4 Earnings
Earnings are calculated per delivery as shown in the app at the time of acceptance. Payouts are processed to the bank account registered in your Courier profile. Lasta is not liable for delays caused by your bank.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the platform for fraudulent purposes, manipulate ratings or reviews, attempt to circumvent the platform to pay or receive payment directly, reverse-engineer or scrape the app, or use the platform in any way that violates applicable law.
6. Liability
Lasta acts as a marketplace intermediary. We do not guarantee the availability of Couriers or specific delivery times. Our liability for any loss or damage arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount paid for the relevant order.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.
7. Intellectual property
All content on the Lasta platform, including the app, website, logo and brand, is owned by Lasta and protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not reproduce or use our content without written permission.
8. Account termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the safety of the platform or its users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under EU consumer law that cannot be waived by this clause.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
